Banana cream pie isn't very popular in Saudi Arabia. I basically saw it on the internet, where a lot of people say it's delicious and easy. So why not try it. It's very creamy and the banana gives it that kick

Ingredients:

 

Custard:

 

1 1/4 cup whole milk

3/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp butter

3 eggs

8 tbsp sugar

3 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp vanilla

pinch on salt




Crust:


125g butter room temperature

60g confectionary sugar

1 egg

200g cake flour (or regular flour)

50g ground almonds

pinch of baking soda

 

Assembling:

 

2 bananas

3/4 cup heavy cream
 

Directions:

Custard:

 

in a bowl, mix the sugar, eggs and corn starch.

 

in a saucepan bring the milk  just to boiling (just until milk starts to foam up.) Remove from heat and add slowly to egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling. (If you get a few pieces of egg (curdling) in the mixture, pour through a strainer.)

 

 Then pour the egg mixture into a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 1 min whisking constantly until it starts to boil and becomes thick . Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract  

 

Pour into a clean bowl under ice then cover the surface with plastic wrap and chill untill we need it. 

 


Crust:

 

Cream the butter and the confectionary sugar untill it is light (2-3min)

 

 Add egg and blend untill combined

 

Add the flour and A pinch of baking soda and mix well then and the ground almonds .

 

Wrap it in a baking sheet and place it in the refrigerator for 1  1\2 hours

 

Bake it for 40 min at 175 C the first 20 min put on it some beans .the seconed 20 min Remove the beans and let it bake

 

Assembling:

 

cut banana into slices and add to your baked crust

 

reheat custerd, add on top of bannanas.

 

whip some haevy cream and add it on top
